This artwork by Giovanni Battista Paggi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2010. In the Old Master, 19th Century & British Drawings & Watercolours auction, the work Cain and Abel (recto); The Conversion of Saul (verso) sold for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,189.99) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Paggi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Holy Family in April 2009 with an auction result of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 34,919.11).
