Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Christ In Glory, In A Painted Oval by Giovanni Battista Gaulli was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction at Christies in London in December 2015. It achieved a price of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 47,528.32), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Admittedly, works by Giovanni Battista Gaulli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Head And Shoulders in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 569,000.00 (€ 421,481.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Christ In Glory, In A Painted Oval von Giovanni Battista Gaulli wurde im Dezember 2015 in der Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 47.528,32) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Gaulli auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Head And Shoulders im Januar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 569.000,00 (€ 421.481,48).
