Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Head Of A Bearded Old Man by Giovanni Battista Gaulli was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 29,150.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Gaulli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Head And Shoulders in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 569,000.00 (€ 421,481.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Head Of A Bearded Old Man von Giovanni Battista Gaulli kam im Mai 2019 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 29.150,60) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
