Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings, which included the work An Apostle by Giovanni Battista Gaulli. The price achieved of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 31,148.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Gaulli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Head And Shoulders in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 569,000.00 (€ 421,481.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2012 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Apostle von Giovanni Battista Gaulli zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 31.148,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Gaulli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Head And Shoulders im Januar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 569.000,00 (€ 421.481,48).
