It achieved a price of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,735.71), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 33%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gioacchino La Pira - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Bay of Naples; and Vesuvius erupting, which sold at auction in April 2001 for GBP 8,225.00 (€ 13,259.73).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 5.735,71) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 33%. Für andere Arbeiten von Gioacchino La Pira mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Bay of Naples; and Vesuvius erupting beobachtet, die im April 2001 für GBP 8.225,00 (€ 13.259,73) versteigert wurde.
