Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2011 Sothebys in Milan held the auction Dipinti Antichi, Dipinti del Secolo XIX, Libri Antichi, Arredi, Giade, Oggetti d'Arte e la Collezione del Marchese Nicola Santangelo, which included the work Sant'Antonio Da Padova Col Bambino by Gioacchino Assereto. The price achieved of EUR 5,625.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gioacchino Assereto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Salome presenting the head of John the Baptist to Herod in July 2003 with an auction result of GBP 733,250.00 (€ 958,407.19).

Im Juni 2011 führte Sothebys in Mailand die Auktion Dipinti Antichi, Dipinti del Secolo XIX, Libri Antichi, Arredi, Giade, Oggetti d'Arte e la Collezione del Marchese Nicola Santangelo durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sant'Antonio Da Padova Col Bambino von Gioacchino Assereto zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 5.625,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gioacchino Assereto erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Salome presenting the head of John the Baptist to Herod im Juli 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 733.250,00 (€ 958.407,19).
