Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Stele), 1956 by Giò Pomodoro was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,200.00 (€ 2,131.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giò Pomodoro achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Studio per la Grande folla in November 2000 with an auction result of ITL 89,300,000.00 (€ 82,171.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Stele), 1956 von Giò Pomodoro wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.200,00 (€ 2.131,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giò Pomodoro erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Studio per la Grande folla im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von ITL 89.300.000,00 (€ 82.171,61).
