Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Sole elogio del 3 by Giò Pomodoro was worth EUR 30,000.00 to a buyer in November this year. This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Art at Il Ponte and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 8,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giò Pomodoro - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Studio per la Grande folla, which sold at auction in November 2000 for ITL 89,300,000.00 (€ 82,171.61).

Die Arbeit Sole elogio del 3 von Giò Pomodoro war einem Käufer im November diesen Jahres EUR 30.000,00 wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art bei Il Ponte erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 8.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Giò Pomodoro mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Studio per la Grande folla beobachtet, die im November 2000 für ITL 89.300.000,00 (€ 82.171,61) versteigert wurde.
