Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Figlia del sole by Giò Pomodoro was sold in the 20th/21st Century Milan Online Sale Part I auction at Christies in June last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 25,200.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giò Pomodoro - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Studio per la Grande folla, which sold at auction in November 2000 for ITL 89,300,000.00 (€ 82,171.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Figlia del sole von Giò Pomodoro wurde im Juni letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th/21st Century Milan Online Sale Part I bei Christies versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 25.200,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Giò Pomodoro mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Studio per la Grande folla beobachtet, die im November 2000 für ITL 89.300.000,00 (€ 82.171,61) versteigert wurde.
