Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lip Palette by Gina Beavers was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 14,090.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gina Beavers - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lips with Painter’s Lips, which sold at auction in June last year for HKD 327,600.00 (€ 39,866.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lip Palette von Gina Beavers kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 14.090,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Gina Beavers mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lips with Painter’s Lips beobachtet, die im Juni letzten Jahres für HKD 327.600,00 (€ 39.866,50) versteigert wurde.
