Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gillette Elvgren could be acquired at Christies in New York in November 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art Online auction, the work Snow Fun changed hands for USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,688.08) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gillette Elvgren have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fascination in October 2015 with an auction result of USD 125,000.00 (€ 113,204.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gillette Elvgren konnte im November 2019 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art Online wechselte die Arbeit Snow Fun für USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.688,08) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gillette Elvgren auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fascination im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 113.204,13).
