Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work I'M A Happy Medium (And Find Out How The Future Looks) by Gillette Elvgren. Here, the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 43,750.00 (€ 39,621.45). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gillette Elvgren - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fascination, which sold at auction in October 2015 for USD 125,000.00 (€ 113,204.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit I'M A Happy Medium (And Find Out How The Future Looks) von Gillette Elvgren zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 43.750,00 (€ 39.621,45) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Gillette Elvgren mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fascination beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für USD 125.000,00 (€ 113.204,13) versteigert wurde.
