Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Gilles-Marie Oppenord achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2010. In the Living with Design: The Collections of Walter Lees and Mr NC. auction, the work Design for a stained-glass window with the arms of France in a crowned cartouche sold for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,907.76) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gilles-Marie Oppenord achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Architectural capriccio with fountain and caryatids, an allegory of hunting in the foreground in February 2024 with an auction result of USD 56,700.00 (€ 49,554.27).
In der Auktion Living with Design: The Collections of Walter Lees and Mr NC. wurde die Arbeit Design for a stained-glass window with the arms of France in a crowned cartouche für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.907,76) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00.
