Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2001 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Drawings incl.Leonardo da Vinci's Horse and Rider, which included the work A Design For A Fountain Beside A Staircase, A Park In The Background by Gilles-Marie Oppenord. The price achieved of GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,567.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gilles-Marie Oppenord have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Architectural capriccio with fountain and caryatids, an allegory of hunting in the foreground in February 2024 with an auction result of USD 56,700.00 (€ 49,554.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Drawings incl.Leonardo da Vinci's Horse and Rider durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Design For A Fountain Beside A Staircase, A Park In The Background von Gilles-Marie Oppenord zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.875,00 (€ 9.567,01) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gilles-Marie Oppenord auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Architectural capriccio with fountain and caryatids, an allegory of hunting in the foreground im Februar 2024 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 56.700,00 (€ 49.554,27).
