Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A woman trying on jewellery in front of a mirror, and two putti with musical instruments and birds: two decorative designs by Gilles-Marie Oppenord was sold in the Old Master and 19th Century Drawings auction at Christies in New York in January 2005. The price achieved of USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,598.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gilles-Marie Oppenord achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Architectural capriccio with fountain and caryatids, an allegory of hunting in the foreground in February 2024 with an auction result of USD 56,700.00 (€ 49,554.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A woman trying on jewellery in front of a mirror, and two putti with musical instruments and birds: two decorative designs von Gilles-Marie Oppenord wurde im Januar 2005 in der Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings bei Christies in New York versteigert.
