Feigen auction, the work Portrait of a lady, half-length, wearing a brown dress with a black lace shawl and a white bonnet sold for USD 27,720.00 (€ 23,995.84) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gilbert Stuart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work George Washington (Vaughan type) in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 11,562,500.00 (€ 9,907,883.46).
