Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2017 Christies in London held the auction Modern British & Irish Art, which included the work Descent from the Cross by Gilbert Spencer. It changed hands for a price of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,808.68) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gilbert Spencer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Man at a sluice gate on the Thames in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 42,695.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Descent from the Cross von Gilbert Spencer zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.808,68) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gilbert Spencer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Man at a sluice gate on the Thames im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 42.695,82).
