Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

It achieved a price of GBP 73,250.00 (€ 76,933.81), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 22%. Admittedly, works by Gysbrecht Leytens have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Winter Landscape With Hunters On A Forest Track And Children Playing On A Frozen River, Villages Beyond in November 2006 with an auction result of EUR 381,600.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A winter landscape with a woodsman and travellers von Gysbrecht Leytens kam im Dezember 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 73.250,00 (€ 76.933,81) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 22%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gysbrecht Leytens auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Winter Landscape With Hunters On A Forest Track And Children Playing On A Frozen River, Villages Beyond im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 381.600,00.
