This price was achieved in the auction RUSSIAN PICTURES at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Giacomo Quarenghi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Four views of Bakhchiserai in the Crimea: Houses along the river; The walls of a mosque; A lane with a view of mountains; and A mosque among trees in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 88,147.58).
