Alfred Taubman: Old Masters auction, the work Plan For The English Garden At Peterhof, On The Outskirts Of St. Petersburg, With An Elevation Of The Empress' Pavilion changed hands for USD 21,250.00 (€ 19,617.80) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Giacomo Quarenghi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Four views of Bakhchiserai in the Crimea: Houses along the river; The walls of a mosque; A lane with a view of mountains; and A mosque among trees in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 88,147.58).
