The »bidding war« ended at EUR 850.00 70% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giacomo Mantegazza achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Italian Passa Il Re (The King Passes) in June 2009 with an auction result of GBP 44,450.00 (€ 52,160.58).

Die Arbeit Ritratto di donna orientale von Giacomo Mantegazza wurde im Oktober 2012 in der Auktion Important Paintings of the XIX Century | Asian Works of Art bei Il Ponte versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 850,00 und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giacomo Mantegazza erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Italian Passa Il Re (The King Passes) im Juni 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 44.450,00 (€ 52.160,58).
