In October 2004 Christies in New York held the auction 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART, which included the work Preparations for the Wedding by Giacomo Mantegazza. The »bidding war« ended at USD 28,680.00 (€ 22,501.18), 43% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giacomo Mantegazza - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Italian Passa Il Re (The King Passes), which sold at auction in June 2009 for GBP 44,450.00 (€ 52,160.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 43 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in New York die Auktion 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Preparations for the Wedding von Giacomo Mantegazza zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 28.680,00 (€ 22.501,18) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Giacomo Mantegazza mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Italian Passa Il Re (The King Passes) beobachtet, die im Juni 2009 für GBP 44.450,00 (€ 52.160,58) versteigert wurde.
