Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two works: (i) Amalia and I; (ii) Pink Wallpaper by Ghada Amer was sold in the Phillips x Artsy: Wrapped/Unwrapped auction at Phillips in an online auction in December 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,250.00 (€ 1,113.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ghada Amer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (The Big Blue Expression Painting BBEP) in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 120,000.00 (€ 179,290.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Two works: (i) Amalia and I; (ii) Pink Wallpaper von Ghada Amer wurde im Dezember 2019 in der Auktion Phillips x Artsy: Wrapped/Unwrapped bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.250,00 (€ 1.113,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ghada Amer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (The Big Blue Expression Painting BBEP) im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 120.000,00 (€ 179.290,69).
