A top price for Gerrit Hondius - as previously expected
The work Circus figures; and Two women by Gerrit Hondius was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2004. The price achieved of USD 1,075.50 (€ 893.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Circus figures; and Two women is the most expensive artwork by Gerrit Hondius that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Circus figures; and Two women von Gerrit Hondius kam im Juli 2004 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.075,50 (€ 893,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Circus figures; and Two women das teuerste Kunstwerk von Gerrit Hondius, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
