The work Setting out to sea by German Grobe was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2010. The auction ended at the price of EUR 3,000.00, which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by German Grobe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Anchoring the Bomschuit in October 2006 with an auction result of EUR 18,000.00.
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Setting out to sea von German Grobe kam im September 2010 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 3.000,00 entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von German Grobe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Anchoring the Bomschuit im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 18.000,00.
