Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2011 Christies in London held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Sonnenblumen und Monochromie (Sunflower and Monochrome) by Gerhard Merz. The price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,887.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerhard Merz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ohne Titel in December 2013 with an auction result of EUR 25,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sonnenblumen und Monochromie (Sunflower and Monochrome) von Gerhard Merz zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.887,80) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerhard Merz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ohne Titel im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 25.000,00.
