The »bidding war« ended at EUR 9,375.00 34% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerhard Arij Ludwig Morgenstjerne Munthe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Norwegian idyll in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 361,250.00 (€ 431,693.20).

Die Arbeit Bomschuiten on the beach, Scheveningen von Gerhard Arij Ludwig Morgenstjerne Munthe wurde im Juni 2015 in der Auktion Old Masters & 19th century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism) bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 9.375,00 und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerhard Arij Ludwig Morgenstjerne Munthe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Norwegian idyll im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 361.250,00 (€ 431.693,20).
