In November 2013 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters& 19th Century Art - including Dutch Impressionism., which included the work Portrait Of A Nobleman, Half-Length, In Armor With A White Lace Collar And An Orange Sash, In A Painted Oval by Gerrit van Honthorst. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 32,500.00 63% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerrit van Honthorst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Merry Group Behind A Balustrade With A Violin And A Lute Player in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 7,557,000.00 (€ 5,597,777.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 63 % übertroffen
Im November 2013 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters& 19th Century Art - including Dutch Impressionism. durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Nobleman, Half-Length, In Armor With A White Lace Collar And An Orange Sash, In A Painted Oval von Gerrit van Honthorst zur Versteigerung kam.
