The work Shepherdess Holding Plums by Gerrit van Honthorst was sold in the The Dealer's Eye | New York auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2020. The price achieved of USD 68,750.00 (€ 61,214.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerrit van Honthorst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Merry Group Behind A Balustrade With A Violin And A Lute Player in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 7,557,000.00 (€ 5,597,777.78).
