Auction result well in line with expectations

In July 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Portrait Of A Lady, Possibly Catherina Elizabeth Von Hanau, As A Shepherdess by Gerrit van Honthorst. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,750.00 (€ 14,952.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerrit van Honthorst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Merry Group Behind A Balustrade With A Violin And A Lute Player in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 7,557,000.00 (€ 5,597,777.78).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Juli 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Possibly Catherina Elizabeth Von Hanau, As A Shepherdess von Gerrit van Honthorst zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 12.750,00 (€ 14.952,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerrit van Honthorst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Merry Group Behind A Balustrade With A Violin And A Lute Player im Januar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.557.000,00 (€ 5.597.777,78).
