The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,711.33) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerard Soest - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of a boy from the Ashley-Cooper family, half-length, wearing a blue wrap and a white shirt with a dog in a landscape, which sold at auction in December 2018 for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 44,563.55).
