Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Double portrait of a lady and her son, full-length, the lady seated, in a silver dress with a brown wrap, the boy in an orange tunic, his right hand resting on the head of a hound, in a landscape by Gerard Soest for GBP 11,950.00 (€ 17,154.40). This price was achieved in the auction British Pictures 1500-1850 at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerard Soest - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of a boy from the Ashley-Cooper family, half-length, wearing a blue wrap and a white shirt with a dog in a landscape, which sold at auction in December 2018 for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 44,563.55).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Double portrait of a lady and her son, full-length, the lady seated, in a silver dress with a brown wrap, the boy in an orange tunic, his right hand resting on the head of a hound, in a landscape von Gerard Soest für GBP 11.950,00 (€ 17.154,40) erwerben.
