Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Allegory of the riches of the earth by Gerard Hoet I was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January last year. The price achieved of USD 12,600.00 (€ 11,237.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerard Hoet I - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mars paying homage to Venus, which sold at auction in October 2013 for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 44,324.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Allegory of the riches of the earth von Gerard Hoet I kam im Januar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.600,00 (€ 11.237,96) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Gerard Hoet I mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mars paying homage to Venus beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für GBP 37.500,00 (€ 44.324,70) versteigert wurde.
