This artwork by Gerard Hoet I achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April 2008. In the Important Old Master Paintings Part I And Part II auction, the work Paris Presenting Helen To The Court of King Priam sold for USD 23,750.00 (€ 15,255.65) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerard Hoet I - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mars paying homage to Venus, which sold at auction in October 2013 for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 44,324.70).
