In September 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Irish Art, which included the work Potato Patch by Gerard Dillon. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 47,500.00 (€ 53,889.36), 36% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Gerard Dillon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Dreamer in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 378,000.00 (€ 416,806.45).

Im September 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Potato Patch von Gerard Dillon zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 53.889,36) und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerard Dillon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Dreamer im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 378.000,00 (€ 416.806,45).
