In September 2020 Christies in London (Online) held the auction Prints & Multiples: Modern to Pop, which included the work Sandra, from: Baby, Baby Wild Things by Gerald Laing. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,648.30), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerald Laing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beach Wear in October 2016 with an auction result of GBP 1,565,000.00 (€ 1,743,457.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im September 2020 führte Christies in London (Online) die Auktion Prints & Multiples: Modern to Pop durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sandra, from: Baby, Baby Wild Things von Gerald Laing zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 9.648,30) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerald Laing erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beach Wear im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.565.000,00 (€ 1.743.457,40).
