Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Pop x Culture, which included the work AAD, from 'Dragsters', 1968 by Gerald Laing. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 510.00 (€ 598.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerald Laing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beach Wear in October 2016 with an auction result of GBP 1,565,000.00 (€ 1,743,457.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Pop x Culture durch, in der auch die Arbeit AAD, from 'Dragsters', 1968 von Gerald Laing zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 510,00 (€ 598,79) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerald Laing erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beach Wear im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.565.000,00 (€ 1.743.457,40).
