Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Typographical poster for Warsaw 'G. Vantongerloo Sztuka I Jej Przyszlosc Wydawnictwo 'Praesens' Warszawa 1927' by Georges Vantongerloo was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art auction at Bonhams in London in April last year. The price achieved of GBP 38,100.00 (€ 45,432.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georges Vantongerloo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Composition émanante de l'équation y=-ax2+bx+18 avec accord de orangé, vert, violet in February 2018 with an auction result of GBP 1,208,750.00 (€ 1,365,448.98).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 38.100,00 (€ 45.432,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georges Vantongerloo erzielen.
