Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Etude de couleurs by Georges Vantongerloo was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper auction at Christies in London in March 2017. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 43,946.30). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georges Vantongerloo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Composition émanante de l'équation y=-ax2+bx+18 avec accord de orangé, vert, violet in February 2018 with an auction result of GBP 1,208,750.00 (€ 1,365,448.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Etude de couleurs von Georges Vantongerloo wurde im März 2017 in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 35.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 37.500,00 (€ 43.946,30) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georges Vantongerloo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Composition émanante de l'équation y=-ax2+bx+18 avec accord de orangé, vert, violet im Februar 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.208.750,00 (€ 1.365.448,98).
