Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Georges Vantongerloo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2017. In the Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale auction, the work Composition dans le carré avec couleurs jaune-vert-bleu-indigo-orangé sold for GBP 1,085,000.00 (€ 1,235,612.57) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 450,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Georges Vantongerloo; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Composition émanante de l'équation y=-ax2+bx+18 avec accord de orangé, vert, violet sold at auction in February 2018 with the realized price of GBP 1,208,750.00 (€ 1,365,448.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Georges Vantongerloo erzielte im Juni 2017 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Composition dans le carré avec couleurs jaune-vert-bleu-indigo-orangé für GBP 1.085.000,00 (€ 1.235.612,57) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 450.000,00.
