Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June this year Artcurial in Paris held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Composition - 1958 by Georges Mathieu. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 17,056.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georges Mathieu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tuz Gölü in October 2021 with an auction result of HKD 18,325,000.00 (€ 2,038,402.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition - 1958 von Georges Mathieu zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 17.056,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georges Mathieu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tuz Gölü im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 18.325.000,00 (€ 2.038.402,44).
