etching printed with tone, on Japan, signed and numbered 9/10 in pencil, (the total edition was 30), published by Maeght, Paris, with margins, a little surface dirt in the margins, a small stain to the left of the sheet, remains of tape verso, otherwise in general good condition
P. 243 x 100mm., S. 400 x 240mm.

Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Georges Braque achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2000. In the 20TH CENTURY PRINTS auction, the work Vase (V. 59) sold for GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,807.65) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georges Braque achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Paysage À La Ciotat in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 15,845,000.00 (€ 12,199,722.82).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Georges Braque erzielte im Dezember 2000 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20TH CENTURY PRINTS wurde die Arbeit Vase (V. 59) für GBP 1.762,50 (€ 2.807,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georges Braque erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Paysage À La Ciotat im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.845.000,00 (€ 12.199.722,82).
