Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of EUR 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 7,500.00. Admittedly, works by George Willem Opdenhoff have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shipping in a calm; Shipping on a choppy sea in October 2000 with an auction result of NLG 81,914.00 (€ 39,316.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A 'bomschuit' and horse drawn cart on the beach von George Willem Opdenhoff wurde im Mai 2012 in der Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 7.500,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Willem Opdenhoff auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shipping in a calm; Shipping on a choppy sea im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 81.914,00 (€ 39.316,02).
