Auction result well in line with expectations
The work To the Black Halford by George Washington Lambert was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Bonhams in Sydney in November 2021. The price achieved of AUD 984.00 (€ 871.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Washington Lambert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Miss Alison Preston in November 2003 with an auction result of AUD 44,650.00 (€ 26,935.17).
