In November 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Australian Flowers Still Life by George Washington Lambert. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 28,800.00 (€ 17,561.58), 60% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by George Washington Lambert; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Miss Alison Preston sold at auction in November 2003 with the realized price of AUD 44,650.00 (€ 26,935.17).

Im November 2009 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Flowers Still Life von George Washington Lambert zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 28.800,00 (€ 17.561,58) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von George Washington Lambert; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Miss Alison Preston im November 2003 mit dem Hammerpreis von AUD 44.650,00 (€ 26.935,17).
