Auction result well in line with expectations
In August this year Bonhams in New York held the auction The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionThe Artist's Eye, which included the work Harvesting, 1898 by George Washington Lambert. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 5,166.00 (€ 3,082.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by George Washington Lambert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Miss Alison Preston in November 2003 with an auction result of AUD 44,650.00 (€ 26,935.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionThe Artist's Eye durch, in der auch die Arbeit Harvesting, 1898 von George Washington Lambert zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 5.166,00 (€ 3.082,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Washington Lambert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Miss Alison Preston im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 44.650,00 (€ 26.935,17).
