Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Sheridan Knowles could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures auction, the work The toast changed hands for GBP 3,760.00 (€ 6,146.61) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Sheridan Knowles have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Little Ones in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 31,200.00 (€ 24,714.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Sheridan Knowles konnte im März 2002 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures wechselte die Arbeit The toast für GBP 3.760,00 (€ 6.146,61) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Sheridan Knowles auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Little Ones im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 31.200,00 (€ 24.714,83).
