Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lilies by George Sheridan Knowles was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,232.50 (€ 3,649.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by George Sheridan Knowles have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Little Ones in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 31,200.00 (€ 24,714.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lilies von George Sheridan Knowles kam im März 2002 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.232,50 (€ 3.649,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Sheridan Knowles auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Little Ones im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 31.200,00 (€ 24.714,83).
