Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction Irish and 20th Century British Art, which included the work Youth with dreams to dream by George Russell. The price achieved of GBP 2,390.00 (€ 3,585.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Russell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ring-a-ring-a-roses in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 42,300.00 (€ 67,875.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Irish and 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Youth with dreams to dream von George Russell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.390,00 (€ 3.585,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Russell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ring-a-ring-a-roses im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 42.300,00 (€ 67.875,90).
