Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Russell could be acquired at Sothebys in London in November 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Irish Art auction, the work Standing Figure by a Stone Wall changed hands for GBP 4,410.00 (€ 5,177.75) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Russell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ring-a-ring-a-roses in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 42,300.00 (€ 67,875.90).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Russell konnte im November 2021 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Irish Art wechselte die Arbeit Standing Figure by a Stone Wall für GBP 4.410,00 (€ 5.177,75) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Russell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ring-a-ring-a-roses im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 42.300,00 (€ 67.875,90).
